Small and Medium Enterprises Development Support Unit (SMEDSU) is the official
academic wing of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management Studies
and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, established to develop
knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field of Entrepreneurship and Business
Management of practicing entrepreneurs and professionals. 

Applications are being called for following programs of SMEDSU for the academic
year of 2020. 
1.	Certificate in Entrepreneurial Business Management - C EBM
2.	Diploma in Entrepreneurial Business Management - D EBM
3.	Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurial Business Management - AD EBM

Diploma in Entrepreneurial Business Management – D EBM
D EBM intends to give the participants a wide and thorough knowledge relating to the
fields of Entrepreneurship and Management. This program is highly recommended for
those who have received a formal education in the field of Business Management. The
knowledge given at the C EBM level will be further sharpened at this stage.

Duration: 01 Year
Registration Fee: Rs. 3,000.00
Course Fee: Rs 75,000.00 (can be paid in 03 installments)

Entry Qualifications:
     •	Three passes at GCE(A/L) Examination (New Syllabus)
     •	Four passes at GCE (A/L) Examination (Old Syllabus)
     •	Or - Successful completion of C EBM
     •	Or - Any other equivalent qualification acceptable to the FMSC and the Senate
        of the University

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Once C EBM is successfully completed, students can look forward for their higher
studies. A continuous professional development path has been developed where the
successful completion of the C EBM provides eligibility to enroll for the Diploma 
in Entrepreneurial Business Management (D EBM) Program. After completing D EBM, it
provides an opportunity to enroll for the Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurial
Business Management (AD EBM) Program. Students’ who successfully complete the AD EBM,
can enroll for the Masters of Entrepreneurship, a two years’ postgraduate degree.

Program Schedule
Lectures of the programs are held only on Sundays and final examinations are held on
selected Saturdays. Registered students will be given an academic calendar at the
date of commencement of the program.

Medium of Instructions
    •	Lectures of the D EBM program will be conducted in English with brief
        explanations in Sinhala.
    •	Question papers for the final examinations will be provided in Sinhala and
        English
    •	Candidates of the program can answer the examination papers either in Sinhala
        or English
