Small and Medium Enterprises Development Support Unit (SMEDSU) is the official
academic wing of the Department of Entrepreneurship, Faculty of Management Studies
and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka, established to develop
knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field of Entrepreneurship and Business
Management of practicing entrepreneurs and professionals. 

Applications are being called for following programs of SMEDSU for the academic
year of 2020. 
1.	Certificate in Entrepreneurial Business Management- C EBM
2.	Diploma in Entrepreneurial Business Management- D EBM
3.	Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurial Business Management- AD EBM

Certificate in Entrepreneurial Business Management- C EBM
C EBM program has been designed to give the participants a basic knowledge in the
fields of Management and Entrepreneurship. Only the fundamentals of the concepts of
the above fields are covered in this program. Hence, C EBM program is recommended for
those managers and entrepreneurs who have not received a formal education in the
field of Entrepreneurship and Business Management.

Duration: 01 Year
Registration Fee: Rs. 3,000.00
Course Fee: Rs. 65,000.00 (can be paid in 3 installments)

Entry Qualifications: This course is specially recommended for those who 
have not received a sound education in the fields of management and commerce yet,
have felt the need to enhance Entrepreneurial and managerial competencies. Thus, 
no formal educational qualification is required.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
Once C EBM is successfully completed, students can look forward for their higher
studies. A continuous professional development path has been developed where the
successful completion of the C EBM provides eligibility to enroll for the Diploma 
in Entrepreneurial Business Management (D EBM) Program. After completing D EBM, 
it provides an opportunity to enroll for the Advanced Diploma in Entrepreneurial
Business Management (AD EBM) Program. Students’ who successfully complete the AD EBM,
can enroll for the Masters of Entrepreneurship, a two years’ postgraduate degree.

Program Schedule
Lectures of the programs are held only on Sundays and final examinations are held 
on selected Saturdays. Registered students will be given an academic calendar at the
date of commencement of the program. 


Medium of Instructions
     •	Lectures of the C EBM program will be conducted in Sinhala and handouts are
        given in English.
     •	Question papers for the final examinations will be provided in Sinhala and
        English.
     •	Candidates of the program can answer the examination papers either in Sinhala
        or English
